A perfume house built on patience

Wajuma began in a single room in Juba with a hot plate, a set of scales and a stubborn conviction: that fragrance made slowly smells nothing like fragrance made quickly. Our first composition took eleven months to settle. We still work that way.

Every Wajuma eau de parfum is blended in batches of a few hundred bottles, then left to macerate for eight to sixteen weeks so the raw materials can marry. Only after that does a composition earn a name.

We work with oud, frankincense, amber and night-blooming florals sourced through growers and distillers we can name. Concentrations sit between 18% and 24% — closer to extrait than to the eau de toilette most houses ship — which is why a single application carries through the day.
